Paper theaters originated in England in the19th Century and quickly disseminated throughout Europe, especially to Denmark, Germany, Spain and France. More and more publishers started printing theater plays including characters, sceneries, cardboard model stages and scripts. Though initially these paper theaters were aimed at children, they were also collected and enjoyed by adults up until the first half of the 20th Century.

The paper theaters displayed at Manzana 1 Espacio de Arte belong to Malena Orias, who collected these items to enrich and renew her acting craft.

The exhibit was organized within the frame of the VIII internal Theater Festival.
