Bolivia is a visual territory; its shapes, colors and situations – sometimes bordering on the surreal – make this country a factory for photographs that may finally, provide the explanations which no discourse can supply. Inspired by the idea that an image is worth more than a thousand words, Manzana 1 invited thirteen renowned photojournalists working in local newspapers to create an exhibit paying tribute to the craft of these men.

This exhibit was also presented in La Paz, as well as in the cities of Treveris and Hannover, in Germany. The exhibit recovers the visual information available to us on a daily basis, in order to make the spectator stop and think about the facts and people that make up our immediate reality.

“Click. An instant has been stolen from the world and transformed into an image: maybe by chance, maybe thanks to the photographer’s keen eye, maybe for both reasons”. Ejti Stih
